Why Blinkimg

Four things that decide whether an image tool survives past the first upload.

  • AVIF-first

The modern codec lands well under JPEG and PNG, and ~95% of browsers already read it. We reach for AVIF first, and fall back to JPEG or PNG when you need wider compatibility.

  • Batch, metered

Drop a whole batch at once. Each image gets its own live meter and a before/after check. Download them one by one or as a single ZIP.

  • Every common format

JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and iPhone HEIC go in. Keep the format, or convert to several at once in one pass.

  • Nothing kept

No account, no watermark. We process uploads and wipe them automatically: we keep nothing. Privacy is the default, not a setting.

Can you tell the difference?

A 4964×2782 photo straight off a camera, capped to 2400px and converted to AVIF in one pass: 9.4 MB down to 67 KB, 99.3% smaller.

How it works

Three steps, no account, and a measured number at the end of each one.

  1. Drop

Drag images in, or choose a target format first.

  2. Compress

We sniff each file, strip metadata, and encode at the smallest size that still holds quality.

  3. Download

Compare before and after, grab each result, or take the whole batch as one ZIP.

Compress to exactly 100 KB

A hard cap, not a hopeful slider: name the number and the file comes back at or under it, or you’re told plainly the size can’t be met. Measured output, not estimates.

Upload portals don’t negotiate: “JPG under 100 KB” means exactly that. Set Max file size in Advanced settings and the engine searches quality, and under an extreme cap, dimensions, until your file fits under the number, never over. A cap that genuinely can’t be met fails with a clear error instead of delivering mush.

Presets

Portal named the number? The size pages open with the cap pre-armed: compress to 50 KB and its 20/100/200/500 KB siblings.

How these numbers are measured: every byte count on this page is the size of the actual encoded file our engine produced from the named source image. Those are the same bytes you would download, not an estimate or a best case. Rerun any of them yourself: drop your own file into the tool above and the meter reports your real result.

Free means free

Every free tier has limits. Here is what ours actually lets you do, next to the other major free compressors, with every competitor figure taken from their own pages.

Competitor figures read from each vendor's own public pages on 7 September 2026 and verified twice against the live page, limited to what each vendor states about its free tier: "not stated" means the vendor publishes no figure, not that it has no limit. Batch size is a platform constant and applies to everyone. The other Blinkimg cells are the Free tier, which runs without an account at 30 MB a file.

Which format should you pick?

If you only remember one row: AVIF for the web, JPG for compatibility, PNG when nothing may change.

Privacy is the architecture

Not a toggle, not a promise buried in a policy. We built the system so nothing sticks around to leak.

  • We keep nothing

We process your files and wipe them automatically. We never archive them, never train on anything with them, never sell or share them.

  • EXIF & GPS stripped by default

Every output ships without camera metadata or location data. Photographers can keep it with one checkbox.

  • Your files are never the product

No third-party trackers touch the tool, and uploads are used for your job and nothing else. The Free tier is ad-supported; paid tiers stay ad-free.

  • No account required

Drop files and go. Nothing ties an upload to a profile. You get 300 images a day and 100 an hour, counted live beside the drop zone.

Simple, honest pricing

No “contact sales” and no hidden tiers: monthly cancel-anytime, or yearly with 2 months free. Every tier includes API credits, granted once and never expiring. One balance, every surface.

Every plan includes

  • Exact KB target sizeName a number. The file comes back at or under it, never over.
  • Every format, both waysHEIC and the four web formats in, JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF out.
  • Batches with one ZIPDrop a full batch, take the results as a single archive.
  • Images to one PDFA whole batch becomes one multi-page PDF, no extra click.
  • The full editorCrop, rotate, colour, annotate, censor and frame the result.
  • Proof on every resultA before and after slider with the real byte counts, not estimates.
  • Metadata strippedEXIF and GPS come off by default. Photographers can keep them.
  • Nothing keptWe process your files and wipe them automatically.
  • API credits includedA one-time grant on every tier, and it never expires.
  • Sessions, not totals

We never count a monthly total on paid tiers. Limits are per session, and Pro Max has no session limits at all.

  • Simple credit math

Credits meter the API and the plugins: 1 credit per compress, 2 per convert. One balance on every surface.

  • Starter credits included

Every tier ships a one-time grant, even Free (1,000). It never expires. Need more? Packs below, or pay per compression.

PackPricePer creditSame volume on TinyPNG

100,000 credits$199$0.002~$265.50 (1.3×)

"Same volume on TinyPNG" prices each pack's image count on TinyPNG's full published schedule (500 free, $0.009 to 10,000, $0.002 above). That is the honest blended comparison, not a flat-rate multiple. Packs never expire; pay-per-compression is also available.

One balance, every surface

The web tool and the developer API draw from the same account and the same credit balance. The WordPress and Shopify apps will too. No per-platform silos.

WordPress & Shopify

Paste your key once and the same engine behind this page will compress every upload, drawing on the same credit balance as the web tool and the API. One account, three places.

WordPress and Shopify, each connected to Blinkimg and drawing on one shared credit balance

The developer API

This site is the API’s first customer: the tool above consumes the same public endpoints. Create a key from your account. Even Free includes a one-time 1,000-credit grant that never expires. AVIF plus an exact size cap in one call:

curl -X POST https://api.blinkimg.com/v1/jobs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer bk_..." \
  -d '{ "uploadId": "...",

Answered before you ask

Short answers. Drop one file in and the meter settles most of these in about a second.

Is it free?
Yes. No account needed, no watermark. The tool takes 50 images a batch at 30 MB each, counted live beside the drop zone. TinyPNG caps free runs at 20 images. Free gives you 50 compressions and 10 conversions per session on 30 MB files. Signed out, you get 300 images a day and 100 an hour. Reach a cap and you get a signup prompt, never a dead end.
What happens to my images?
Your images travel over HTTPS. We process them, then wipe them automatically: we keep nothing, never train on anything, never sell or share anything. We strip EXIF metadata, including GPS location, from outputs by default. The privacy policy has the detail.
Will compression hurt quality?
Compression is lossy, but Auto tunes it to stay visually indistinguishable. Every result carries a Compare slider, so you judge the original against the output yourself at 100% zoom. Your eyes are the referee, not our marketing.
How much smaller will my files get?
Usually 40–80%, depending on the image. Measured on our reference photo: 188.3 KB in, 74.7 KB out as JPEG (−60.3%), 78.7 KB as AVIF. The meter reports the exact saving for every file you drop.
Can I compress to an exact size, like 100 KB?
Yes. Set Max file size in Advanced settings and the engine guarantees the output at or under it, never over. Our 188.3 KB reference came out at 90.6 KB against a 100 KB cap and 49.6 KB against 50 KB. Portals that demand "under 100 KB" stop being a two-tool job.
What's AVIF, and should I use it?
AVIF is the modern format that lands well under JPEG and WebP at the same look, and ~95% of browsers read it in 2026. Use it for the web; keep JPEG for email, forms and older software. We reach for AVIF first and fall back honestly when compatibility wins.
Can I batch, and do I get a ZIP?
Yes to both. Drop up to 50 images at once, 30 MB each, mixed formats welcome: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and iPhone HEIC in one run. Each file gets its own meter and compare view. The whole batch lands as a single ZIP with filenames preserved.
Does it handle iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes, natively. Drop them as they come off the phone and convert to JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, up to 50 at a time. No plugins, no desktop app. We strip the EXIF/GPS your camera embedded from outputs by default.
What does Pro cost?
Pro is $2.50 a month and Pro Max is $8.50, both cancel-anytime, with 2 months free on yearly billing. Pro web compressions are unlimited (conversions: 10 per session) and Pro Max is unlimited across the board. Pro takes 90 MB files, Pro Max 1 GB. Every tier includes a one-time API credit grant that never expires: 10,000 on Pro, 25,000 on Pro Max. Spend it on the API from the same account.
Is there a developer API?
Yes: the whole site runs on it. The web tool consumes the same public API, so the engine you just tried is the product itself. Create an API key from your account. Even the Free tier includes a one-time starter grant of 1,000 credits that never expire. Past that, packs and pay-per-compression cover any volume.
Do you run ads or trackers on the tool?
The Free tier is ad-supported: that is what keeps it free. Pro and Pro Max stay ad-free. What never changes on any tier: no third-party trackers in the tool, nothing retained, metadata stripped, and your files used for your job and nothing else.
