Best Optimizilla alternative

Blinkimg is the best Optimizilla alternative. It takes 50 images at once instead of 20, holds an exact size like 100 KB, opens iPhone HEIC files and converts to WebP or AVIF in the same drop, then returns one ZIP. Free, no signup, and every upload is deleted within 24 hours.

The short answer

Why Blinkimg is the best Optimizilla alternative

Optimizilla is a careful, private compressor with a slider on every image. Blinkimg makes smaller JPEGs at the same quality and takes the jobs it sends elsewhere: conversion, HEIC, resizing and a size you set.

  1. 01Images a batch

    50Optimizilla: 20

    No file left behind

Optimizilla skips every file past the twentieth without a message. Blinkimg takes 50 in one drop.

  2. 02Same quality, JPEG

    293,649 BOptimizilla: 338,719 B

    13% smaller at quality 80

At quality 80, Optimizilla's default, our JPEG of our reference photo came out 13% smaller, at 37.6 dB PSNR against its 37.8 dB.

  3. 03Exact size

    YesOptimizilla: No

    One pass to 100 KB

Its own blog says better tools handle the guessing. Our reference photo, a 576.8 KB JPEG, came back at 99.7 KB under 100 KB.

  4. 04HEIC and conversion

    One dropOptimizilla: Another site

iPhone photos to WebP or AVIF

Optimizilla sends conversion and HEIC to a sister site. Blinkimg does both in the same run as compression.

  5. 05Download

    One ZIPOptimizilla: File by file

    The whole batch at once

SAVE ALL saves each file separately. Blinkimg returns the batch as one ZIP.

  6. 06Resize

    YesOptimizilla: No

    Smaller in pixels too

Set a maximum width and height in the same run. Optimizilla has no resize control.

What the Optimizilla image compressor does well, and where it stops

Optimizilla has run since 2014 and now works entirely in your browser. Its limits are about volume, formats and the steps around compression.

What Optimizilla does well

  • Nothing uploads, since January 2026

Its terms say all processing is performed in your browser, with no server-side processing.

  • A slider on every image

Auto settings first, then a comparison view, step buttons and a size estimate before you apply.

  • Careful with JPEG

It reads each JPEG’s own quality and never re-encodes one that is already at or below its target.

  • SVG and GIF

SVG with a precision control, and GIF and WebP animations kept animated.

  • Free, no limit a day

No registration, no daily cap, no watermark, and its terms allow commercial use. Sixteen languages.

Where Optimizilla stops

  • 20 files, the rest skipped

Its page caps a batch at 20 and drops the rest without a message.

  • No conversion or HEIC

Files come back in their own format. WebP, AVIF and HEIC mean a second site.

  • No size target or resize

A form’s 100 KB limit means moving the slider and reading the estimate, image by image.

  • Settings per image only

Its how-to: one image’s quality setting does not carry to the others in the batch.

  • No ZIP, no named operator

SAVE ALL saves file by file. The terms name no company, address or contact.

Optimizilla vs Blinkimg: every limit, side by side

Each Optimizilla cell comes from imagecompressor.com, its terms, its how-to, its blog or the settings its page serves, read on 2 October 2026; each Blinkimg cell is a limit the tool enforces. Green matches or beats the other side, amber has it with a condition, red lacks it, grey means the site states nothing.

Measured, not claimed

Optimizilla and Blinkimg on the same photos

We ran three photos through the live imagecompressor.com at its own settings and through our engine on 16 October 2026, and kept the exact bytes. PSNR scores each file against the original; higher is closer.

  • Finding 1

    Smaller JPEGs, same detail

At quality 80 our JPEG was 13% smaller than Optimizilla's, at 37.6 dB PSNR against its 37.8 dB, and Auto went smaller again.
  • Finding 2

    Its PNG palette is smaller

On the PNG photo Optimizilla saved more bytes; ours kept a little more detail. Both are palette files.
  • Finding 3

Auto aims at detail on big photos

On the camera photo Optimizilla kept 0.8 dB more; our Auto file was 20% smaller.

Every byte count is the size of the actual file our engine produced from the named source, the same bytes you would download, not an estimate. The reference photo is one of our own photographs, an iguana on a branch, and the camera photo is a real one too. Drop your own file into the tool above to rerun any of them. How we measure names the sources and the settings.

    Optimizilla

Accepted up to 50 MB, compressed on your device.

Privacy

Is it safe? How each side handles your photos

Since January 2026 the two tools make opposite choices. Optimizilla never sees your photos; Blinkimg uploads them and deletes them on a timer.

Blinkimg

  • Uploaded, then deleted within 24 hours

Each photo is processed on our servers and wiped within 24 hours. We keep nothing after that.

  • Metadata stripped from every file

Even a file we return at its size has its GPS and camera details removed while stripping is on.

  • No advertising cookies

Our analytics, Microsoft Clarity, sets no cookie, and the compressor is masked from it.

  • A named operator

The about and privacy pages say who runs Blinkimg and where the servers are.

Optimizilla

  • Nothing uploaded

Its terms say all processing is performed in your browser and no server-side processing is involved.

  • Unchanged files keep metadata

Its blog says a file returned byte-identical keeps the same EXIF, GPS included.

  • Ad and statistics cookies

Its terms name Google ad personalization cookies and statistics cookies, accepted by using the site.

  • No named operator

The terms name only the operator of imagecompressor.com, with no company, address or contact.

For photos that must never leave your device, Optimizilla is the better design, and so are Squoosh and compressjpeg.com, which shares its terms and its code.

The pages we read, so you can check each claim yourself. Figures change; the date is on every one.

Questions, answered

Optimizilla's facts come from its own pages and the settings its page serves; ours are the limits the tool enforces and the files the engine produced.

What is the best Optimizilla alternative?

For more than 20 images, a file under an exact size, iPhone HEIC photos or WebP and AVIF output, Blinkimg: 50 images a batch, back as one ZIP, free with no signup. For SVG, GIF or a slider on every image with nothing uploaded, Optimizilla is still a good choice.

Is Optimizilla still available?

Yes, under another name. optimizilla.com has redirected to imagecompressor.com since at least 2022, and the live site calls itself Image Compressor. On 2 October 2026 optimizilla.com itself did not answer, so go straight to imagecompressor.com, where its tool, terms and blog now live, free and with no account.

Does Optimizilla upload my photos?

Not any more. Since the first week of January 2026 it compresses in your browser; its terms say no server-side processing is involved. Before that it uploaded files and deleted them after an hour, which is what most pages about it still describe. Blinkimg uploads files and deletes them within 24 hours.

How many images can Optimizilla compress at once?

20. Its page sets a limit of 20 files, and anything past the twentieth is skipped without a message; the home page never states the number. There is no daily limit. Blinkimg takes 50 images a batch on the free tool, 30 MB each.

Can Optimizilla compress an image to a specific size, like 100 KB?

No. It has a quality slider and a size estimate, but no target; its own blog says better tools handle the guess-and-check loop for you. Blinkimg takes a target in KB or MB: our 576.8 KB test JPEG came back at 99.7 KB under 100 KB, in one pass.

Can Optimizilla convert to WebP or AVIF, or open HEIC?

Not in the compressor: files come back in their own format, and HEIC is not accepted. For conversion it links a sister site, imageconverter.com, which takes HEIC. Blinkimg compresses and converts in one drop, HEIC in and JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF out.

Why do my PNGs look banded after Optimizilla?

Its home page says PNGs are converted to PNG8, a palette of up to 256 colours, and warns that photos and smooth gradients may not suit it. Its blog adds that photo-like PNGs failing its quality bar stay full colour. Blinkimg also writes a palette PNG on Auto, and keeps every colour at quality 100.

Does Optimizilla remove EXIF and GPS data?

From the files it re-encodes, yes. But its own blog says about 30% of JPEGs come back byte-identical, with the same EXIF, when they are already at or below the target quality. Blinkimg never hands back a file with metadata while stripping is on, even when that file is a few bytes bigger.

Can I download all my images as a ZIP from Optimizilla?

Not on the current site. SAVE ALL saves each file one after another; the old site offered a ZIP until January 2026. Blinkimg returns each file on its own or the whole batch as one ZIP, which a browser handles as one download instead of twenty.

Can Optimizilla resize images?

No. The compressor has no resize or maximum-size control, though its own blog says resizing first is almost always the better step. Blinkimg sets a maximum width and height in the same run, never enlarges, and the editor crops, straightens and adjusts before you save.

Which makes smaller files, Optimizilla or Blinkimg?

On JPEG, Blinkimg: at the same quality 80 our file of our reference photo was 13% smaller, at 37.6 dB PSNR against its 37.8 dB. On a PNG photo, Optimizilla: its palette file measured 889.8 KB against our 994.3 KB, with ours keeping slightly more detail.

Is Optimizilla free?

Yes. It needs no registration, sets no daily limit, adds no watermark, and its terms allow personal or commercial use. The same terms say Google uses cookies on the site for ad personalization and measurement. Blinkimg’s tool is free too, with no account and no advertising cookies.

Which image optimizer is the best?

It depends on the job. For files under an exact size, iPhone photos or big batches, Blinkimg. For one image tuned by eye, Squoosh. For SVG and GIF, Optimizilla or Compressor.io. For WordPress, ShortPixel or TinyPNG. For offline folders, ImageOptim or Caesium.

Why trust a Optimizilla comparison that Blinkimg wrote?

Because you can check each line. Every Optimizilla fact is quoted from imagecompressor.com, its terms, its how-to and its blog, read on 2 October 2026, and linked below. The measurements come from the live tool at its own settings. Where it wins, on PNG size, SVG and privacy, the page says so.
